SUBJECT: Marlboro Hispanic Soccer and Baseball Sponsorship
Marlboro will once again be sponsoring the Classa League in
Chicago (indoor/outdoor) soccer, Mike Brito Baseball League of
Los Angeles and Cohida of New York. Marlboro's ongoing
involvement of Hispanic sports sponsorship promotions within the
Hispanic market has proved to be very successful in these sports
leagues. As a result we would like you to know we have added the
following leagues to our Marlboro Sports sponsorship:
Baseball Leagues
° Spanish American League - San Antonio, Texas
° Fernando Valenzuela Baseball League - Chicago
° Daniel Martin Baseball League - Chicago
Soccer Leagues
° Gold Coast Soccer League - Miami, Florida
° Abraham Lincoln Soccer League - Los Angeles, CA
° Liga Hispanoamericana in New York
Attached are the first few fact sheets detailing those events. As
soon as the other sheets are available, we will send them to you.
Sampling Activities
Planned Marlboro on-site activities in conjunction with the
sponsorship will include signage and sampling. In an effort to
better maximize Sales Force time, we recommend that sampling
activities be conducted on key weekends when the crowds will be
the largest instead of every weekend through the season (see
attachments for dates). Marlboro signage will be placed by the
league management each weekend. We will be conducting some type
of limited Sweepstakes program to give our branded merchandise.
Specific information will follow within the next three to four
weeks.
Sample distribution will be limited to eight cases per event
consisting primarily of Red, Light 85s and Menthol. Two
samplers per event should be sufficient to distribute product.
As always participants in the Sweepstakes program or people
sampled must be 21 years of age or older.

Posters
A POS event poster will be available to be placed in Hispanic
accounts starting in May. We anticipate providing an adequate
quantity for coverage throughout the season. Additionally, we
will provide your leagues with posters to distribute in
non-tobacco outlets (i.e. neighborhood taverns, soccer clubs,
bowling alleys, etc.). These posters will be shipped directly to
your league.
As soon as each individual event nears, Maria Cohen, Coordinator,
Marlboro Promotions, will send you more specific information
under separate cover.
