Ed has done a superb Job recently with regard to matters at
CTR and before the SAB and what I have said above Is certainly
not to be taken to suggest otherwtse. I would just rather
not have him seen ae a fixture we have installed at the SAB.
In passing, I note that the AHH grants are now in terminal
stages. Not much, if anything, will be published out of the
AKH workshop because it was Judged a shambles. The work
in which Ford and others were involved has been modified to
fit within the charter of CTR. Dr. Kreisher has departed
fro~ CTR. The current status of contract work at ~lcrobiological
Associates Is better than we had reason to suppose as recently
as our meeting In early June. Dr. Kill Gardner is sateriallF
contributing to a proper resolution of the proble~ areas.
In sum, setters could be, ~ndeed have been, a lot worse.
Please bring the Jacob memo dated June 22 on 5{icrobiological
Associates to our meeting on July 31. Also let's be ready
to decide the question of CTR Counsel and the SAB at that
t~ne.
Cordially,
EP/dlt
