Dear Gray:
We previously discussed your participation at an April 3 seminar
for AFL-CIO OSHA directors. Since you were scheduledto be on
vacation that day, I'm pleased to let you know that the seminar
has been rescheduled. Our new date--tentatively--is April 25.
How does that look on your'calendar?
On another matter, you may expect a call shortly from a Miriam
Szapiro (pronounced Shapiro). Ms. Szapiro is an attorney for an
American Federation of GovernmentEmployees local union repre-
senting workers at the USIA. The union wants to ask the USIA to
bring ACVA in to conduct a ventilation study as a preliminary
step in developing a smoking policy.
Should Ms. Szapiro and ACVA agree to proceed, the cost of the
study will be borne by the Tobacco'Industry Labor Management
Colfunittee. You should bi13l the committee, to my attention, at
P.O. Box 65311, Washington, D.C. 20035.
Please le£ me know if you have any questions.
Cordially,
Susan M. Stuntz
