RE: State Activities Divisio -~1984 Budget
Enclosed is the revised 1984 budget proposed for the State
Activities Division.
As you may know, portions of The Institute's general and
administrative budget have been allocated to operating divisions,
as applicable.
Prior to the allocations to the State Activities Division explained
above, this recommended budget represents $1.6 million decrease
from the $9,035 million proposed budget submitted in September,
1983 to our member companies as part of the overall TI budget
package.
This substantial reduction in the budget is accomplished by the re-
organization of the Division and other economies including:
o close twelve field offices
o terminate six professional staff
o terminate thirteen support staff ~
W
o eliminate one unstaffed professional position ~
o reduce postage and printing expenses ~
o reduce professional fees
Gt
There are several contingencies remaining in the budget. The
contemplated expenditures of the contingencies are indicated where
known.
If you have any questions or observations as you review this
budget prior to the November 18 State Activities Policy Committee
meeting, please call Roger Mozingo or myself.
