September 13, 1995 To: C. S. Nicholson P. F. Knouse From: R. C. Pasterczyk Re: Percent Winston Was Additive-Free Prior to Natural I spoke to Denny Potter yesterday to find out how additive-free Winston was (is) prior to the Natural product. As you may recall, Denny had told us that Winston was the brand that was closest to additive-free even prior to the Natural work. Winston Style % Additive-Free Dry Wt. Wet Wt. FF 85 96.75% 97.1% Lt. 85 92.75% 93.65% Select 92.1% 92.95% It appears based on this information that we could perhaps use this to the brand's advantage in franchise direct marketing. "Winston has been over 90% additive-free for years. In 1995 it became 100% additive free." (assuming we. change over the product before marketing programs break). Thought you might find this useful.
