On Tuesday, November the 11th at 10:00 p.m. (EST), PBS will air a
documentary filmed earlier this year entitled, "The Smoking
Dilemma," part of a 10-part series on health care in America.
RJR cooperated with the program's producer, Fred Friendly, by
providing John Strauch as a program participant. John, a senior
litigating partner with Jones, Day, Reavis and Pogue, is our
national coordinating counsel for product liability litigation.
On the panel with Strauch were Surgeon General Everett Koop,
Joseph Califano, Dr. Michael DeBakey, Congressman Henry Waxman,
Boston Globe columnist Ellen Goodman and others. Moderator for
the program is Harvard law professor Charles Nesson.

In regard to another matter, you will be interested to know that
the trial of the Sahli case against RJR and American Tobacco,
originally scheduled to begin today in California, will not take
place until after the first of the year.
