Dear Mrs. Martin:
Conoerning your letter of October 11, I regret we will be unable to
accommodate you. Let me explain why.
Company policy prohibits our doing anything that might be oonstdered
as an attempt on our part to promote our cigarette brands to youth.
Also, for some time now, we have not engaged in any advertising
activities for cigarettes on school, college, or university campuses.
The re4sonĀ® behind these courses of conduct in large measure are the
same reasons why we are unable to accommodate your request.
Nevertheless, we do appreciate your interest in writing us and assure
you of our best wishes.
