RE: CONSUMER ANALYSIS OF VENDING USERS- MAJOR ISSUES THAT RELATE
TO THE NOW BRAND
BACKGROUND:
This memo summarizes key conclusions as they relate to NOW from a Consumer
Analysis of Vending Users Report issued by the MDD Consumer Tracking Group.
The information covers 1981 Purchase Patterns and provides trends'as well.
CONCLUSION:
Vending sales have been declining for the past several years. However,
growth among younger adults, especially males, may suggest a leveling
off of this trend.
IMPLICATIONS:
Given (1) That the NOW Brand's user profile is so heavily older female
and (2) That vending is so heavily developed among younger adult smokers,
there apppear to be no identifiable opportunities for the brand in the
vending market.
