Cenlre IntemaUonal d'lnformallon du Tabac
October 6, 1986
Dr. R.E. Thornton, c/o Brussels Hilton Hotel
May I welcome you to Brussels and hope that you will enjoy
the workshop.
Enclosed you will find the programme, a list of delegates
and the composition of the discussion groups. Also enclosed is
an alphabetical list of delegates showing their expected
arrival time to enable you to contact various colleagues before
Monday's dinner. At the back of the programme you will find
the venues of all meetings and the social events.
For the accompanying ladies I have enclosed an itinerary
of the sightseeing tours on Tuesday and Wednesday. Payment for
the tours can be made at the time of registration to my
secretary Fiona Deroulez. The registration desk will be open
on Monday from 14.30 to 18.30 and will be situated in the
Foyer 1, Salon Louise on the first floor of the hotel.
There will be an opportunity for presenters, moderators
and discussion group chairmen to meet us between 16.00 and
17.00 on Monday in Salon VI on the 26th floor. This is to
resolve any queries you may have regarding audio-visual
equipment or anything of a more general nature.
On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings a limited
number of Danish pastries as well as coffee/tea will be
available as from 08.30 in the hall outside the conference room
(1st floor) for delegates who for one reason or another have
missed breakfast in their room or in the Coffee Shop.
The normal check-out time in the Hilton is 12.00 noon. If
you have sent us details of your flight departing in the
afternoon or evening, the hotel should have registered you for
a late check-out against a possible extra charge. However,
-" please check with the reception to avoid any disappointments.

For delegates who are interested in our computerized
database, I would mention that this is now accessible
electronically to members and you may wish to have a look at
its contents. As from Tuesday, a computer will be set up in
the Conference Room and our Database Manager, Mr. David Ball,
will be at your disposal. He will be pleased to demonstrate
contents and structure to you and he will also be able to give
you any technical information you might need, in case you wish
to access. We are using Digital equipment. Further
information on this aspect of the computerized database can be
given by a Digital representative who will be available on
Wednesday morning.
As demonstrations will be kept informal, we suggest you
talk to David any time during coffee or lunch breaks.
Finally, I am looking forward to seeing you on Monday at
19.30 (if not before} in Salons V and VI on the 26th floor
where the Chairman of Infotab, Mr. Jurgen Peddinghaus, will
welcome you to cocktails, followed by dinner in the "En Plein
Ciel" restaurant on the 27th floor. Wives will of course be
cordially welcome.
With best regards,
Yours sincerely,
Bryan Simpson
