Social Smoking Project
(An attempt to make smoking more socially acceptable) In the mid-1970s, B&W attempted to reverse the decline in smoking rates by giving smokers psychological reassurance about smoking.The "Social Smoking Project" included providing smokers with "militant smokers' rights philosophy, reassurance about the correctness of their smoking, and attempted to design a more socially acceptable cigarette (that gave off less ash and offensive odor).
