(UST effort to make spit tobacco appeal to youth)
The Lotus project was an effort to design a form of spit tobacco that would appeal to youth as young as 15 years of age. It was to be wrapped in a paper pouch, have minimal harshness and flavored to taste like mint, cherry or rum.
