H. A. Kent was employed by Lorillard, Inc. and served as Chairman from 1953 to 1955. He served on the Board of Directors from 1953 to 1958 and was Chief Executive Officer in 1953. Lorillard Co. came out with a filter cigarette called Kent, named after the company's president, Herbert A. Kent (L. White, Merchants 1988).
