Johnson , in Comments on Nicotine, a discussion of Project Hippo? and Project Mad Hatter? ,he reported that Sir Charles Ellis, a leading scientist at BAT research headquarters in Southampton, England, circa 1963 started the meeting by saying that he had first brought out the concepts that we are in a nicotine rather than a tobacco industry (Source 3/24/94).
