William "Bill" S. Cutchins worked for B&W in the Executive Department as Executive Vice President in 1955-58 and Director of the same department in 1949. He also worked in the M Department as Vice President of Advertising (Attorney) from 1946-55. (Source: B&W's Initial Disclosure, State of Texas vs. ATC, et al., 6/5/96) William S. Cutchins was employed by Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation and served on the Executive Committee for the Tobacco Institute, Inc. in 1960 and 1963. (UCSF B&W, 1012.01) He was also President for B&W. (N.M. Tobacco Companies Personnel List) William Cutchins, former CEO of Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corp., is deceased as of 1994 (G. Bell LT Waxman 5/16/94). Bill Crutchins was employed by Brown & Williamson Tobacco Corporation, circa 1963 and received from B&W's English attorney A.D. "Tony" McCormick, a copy of 1963 Haselbach/Libert/Battelle study , which stated that the body craves for renewed drug intake so this unconscious desire explains the addiction of the indivudual to nicotine in June 1963 (Source 3/24/94). The 1963 Haselbach/Libert/Battelle study was sent to the TRC (UK's equivalent of the TIRC), who sent it to the TIRC in the U.S. with the request that TIRC consider whether it would help the U.S. tobacco industry for the report to be given to the U.S. Surgeon General (Source 3/24/94). Addison Yeaman, a B&W lawyer, sent this to Bill Cutchins of B&W, and replied to B&W's English attorney A.D. "Tony" McCormick on 6/28/63. Addison Yeaman was disturbed that the report had been sent. Sir Charles Ellis agreed to forestall publication of his results. (Source 3/24/94).
