On Free Nicotine.
Abstract
Work done to determine the nature of free nicotine in tobacco "particularly since the amount of free nicotine in the tobacco has considerable affect on the quality of the finished product." Moisture content, solvent, and temperature are shown to affect amount of free nicotine in tobacco. Solution pH also affects determination.
