Abstract

Patent claims a "process for reducing fire hazard in the consumption of cigaretes comprising preparing a film of fire-retardant cellulosic matter ... and attaching said film to paper used to encircle the tobacco portion of said cigarette by means of an adhesive." Band will be placed such that one-half to three-quarters of the cigarette can be smoked, though that length can be changed.
