The reconstituted tobaccos and
Listed are the descriptions of each company's
reconstituted' sheets:
AMERICAN BRANDS has one dark sheet made by the paper-
making process. It contains large pieces of tobacco leaf
and stem.
BROWq& WILLIAMSON has two types of reconstituted
sheet. One is a two-tone cast sheet and the other is a
light colored sheet made by the paper-making process.
Both~sheets contain medium size pieces of tobacco leaf
and stem.
LIGGETT GROUP has one type of sheet made by the paper-
making process and contains medium size pieces of leaf
and stem.
A has one type of reconstituted sheet. It
is a dark sheet approximately four times thicker than any
other reconstituted sheet. It is made by the paper-making
process and contains large pieces of tobacco leaf and stem.
;has three types of reconstituted sheet,
two are made by the paper-making process and the other is
a two-tone cast sheet.
1) H.R.L. is a light colored sheet containing large
pieces of tobacco leaf and stem.
2) S.B.S. is a light colored sheet containing large
pieces of tobacco stem.
3) R.C.B. is a two-tone cast sheet containing small
pieces of tobacco leaf and stem.
H.R.L. and S.B.S. are very similar in appearance. It is
impossible to distinguish between the two when they are
shredd'ed.
BEYNOLDS has one dark sheet made by the paper-making process.

There have been no obvious changes in the reconstituted
tobaccos of Philip Morris and its competitors since they
were investigated in Septlember, 1976.
