DATE: August 20, 1990
Due to the June price increase, the State Tax and Pricing Report must be
updated. The survey will show the current price for various brand
categories.
Division Managers are to conduct the survey. SAM's and AM's may assist as
directed by the section office. It is extremely important that every trade
class be represented on this survey. At least three accounts from each
trade class should be audited during this survey.
The following prices are to be obtained:
° Distributor to retailer (carton price)
° Wholesale grocer to retailer (carton price)
° Chain supermarket (pack and carton prices)
° Independent supermarket (pack and carton prices)
° Grocery store (pack and carton prices)
° Convenience store (pack and carton prices)
° Drug store (pack and carton prices)
° Mass merchandiser (pack and carton prices)
° Miscellaneous (pack and carton prices)
° Vending machine (pack price)
Use the survey section on the Fixture Survey Report (FSR) to complete the
survey. Follow the instructions below when filling out the FSR:
° Fill in blocks 1, 2, 4 and 20 for every store surveyed.
° When filling in the management account number in Block 5 (6
digits), mark "0" then the five digit management account number.
° Refer to pages 104 - 106 in ICR/FSR Instructions booklet if
necessary.
We are no longer capturing pricing data from the Convenience 25's or Value
25's categories. Instead, we are asking for the prices of the sub-generic
(Pyramid/Bristol) level and the black and white/private label level. As
such, the subgeneric prices should be entered on the FSR recorder in the
section labeled "Convenience 25's"; and black and white prices should be
entered on the recorder in the section labeled Value 25's (see attachment).
If a retailer does not carry brands for a specific pricing category, that Fa
area should be left blank.

00date, the FSR has not been revised to allow for reporting of pack
prices greater than $1.99 or carton prices greater than $19.99. For those
accounts where the selling price is greater, report the maximum amount the
recorder will allow. Mail a separate note to Patrick Piscitelli, at the
New York Office, 6th floor, giving the name of the account and the actual
carton and pack selling price.
The survey should be completed and mailed to arrive in Richmond no later
than September 10, 1990.
