To this end, the signatorie& have voluntarily signed the following In-House Code of Behaviour specifically relating to cigarette Advertising & Promotions. The Code of Conduct below shall be a private industry document unless and until META unanimously decides it should be released to any UAE ministry or public-sector body. The Code is not exclusive to META within the tobacco industry. Other companies may be invitGd to subscribe at the unanimous invitation of META companies. Article 1- Media !.1 'rhe following media are excluded from use for branded cigarette advertising: ~ . Cinemas (for matinees Qrtly). l Wlrs,N d4--o +w,~-^ MAP^ . V'Ts VV 4.1 No advertising will state or fmply that smoking the brand advertised promotes physical health or that smoking that brand Is better for health than smoking any other brand of cigarettes. 4.2 No fortns of advertising will be specifically directed at minors, nor will minors appear in advertising. All models used In cigarette advertising must be at least 25 years of age. Anything in their dress or make-up tending to make them look younger shall be avoided. 4.3 No pubiicity material and/or promotional items for the brands will be kzaowingty given to minors by the signatories or their representatives. There shall be no promotions in locations where those under 18 are the predominant audience. 4.4 No celebrity, fn whatever field, will be induced to state explicitly or directly a personal preference for a brand. 4.5 Commercial announcements in newspapers shall not be published In sections directed to minors.
