INFOTAB WORKSHOP
GROUP DISCUSSIONS - TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 20 - Nils TgSrring
Group_3___"Tobacco-Action-Network-and-Information-Seminars
Group 3's subject was 'Tobacco Action Network and Information
Seminars' and I won't say it was easy in those 45 minutes to
agree on all points or even make a unanimous resolution, but
we all understand the difficulties Norway has with an eight-
year total ban on advertising and very strong anti-smoking
groups and we were all positively surprised at Argentina's
information seminars specially for medical doctors, and of
course there are also differences between Australia and the
United Kingdom. It is, or it was five years ago, the normal
reaction that, although we get very good tools here, we have
to tailor-make the ways and the means we use.
But what we more or less agreed to was, now should be the time
to be more open to circuits outside ourselves and to start
informing the various sorts of family groups, but we might also
here go our own ways in our various countries. The contents of
the things we are briefing those people on should be facts and
positive argumentation. It is too late to say there is no
proof of that. We must try to come with positive
bring them forward in circles we know.
arguments to
The conclusion was, and what I found to be rather important,
to be more open and to be it now.
