Subject: Update on LSRO
I spoke with Mike Falk about our contract and relationship. He said there appeared to be no problems
with the contract
and that the relationship had cleared the LSRO board. He said he was having problems with LSRO's
parent
organization's board. This related more to the fact that we were the tobacco industry than the
nature of the work. As
we discussed last week, any contacts you have with governments that LSRO can contact to support the
validity of an
external review panel for ingredients would be appropriate. Please forward these to me as soon as
possible with
addresses and phone numbers. I plan to give LSRO a copy of the most recent draft of the EU
directive. Any other
pending legislation that you have would be helpful.
