Dr. Wong has extensive experience in communication research among
individuals, groups and organizations. As a trained cultural
anthropologist with a specialty in Asian Studies, she explores ways to
provide ethnographic and cultural insights that strengthens the
effectiveness of a company's business strategy in the Asian markets. Her
research experience encompasses consumer products, telecommunications,
financial services, insurance, retail, travel, business to business and service
sector organizations.
As a business professional, Dr. Wong has over fifteen years of interpersonal
and intercultural communication experience. She has designed and
implemented numerous interpersonal communication, intercultural
preparedness and diversity training sessions. She has developed and
conducted cultural awareness and adaptation programs for both Japanese
and Americans. Dr. Wong has also culturally adapted presentations and
training programs for audiences in Asia and Latin America. She has
conducted many assessments and facilitated numerous sessions to help
resolve issues that arise due to cultural and value differences.
Dr. Wong has extensive experience as a Human Resources manager with
demonstrated project management skills. She has designed and conducted
skills training in interviewing, group facilitation and group dynamics. She
has trained others to "listen and capture" the voice of both internal and
external customers. She has developed, implemented and managed
various employee/management development, organizational effectiveness,
total quality, organizational assessment, employee communication,
career/life planning, staffing and reduction-in-force efforts throughout
several Fortune 5 and Fortune 300 corporations.
