STATE PLAN: 1997 WASHINGTON STATE 1. STATE OVERVIEW A. Politics The legislature meets annually, and will convene the'97 session on January 13. The session is limited to 105 calendar days in odd years, and 60 days in even years. There are 98 House members, serving 2 year terms, and 49 Senate members serving 4 year terms.
