Philip Morris reported earnings of $1.42 a share, with net income rising to $1.2 billion, up 17.6 percent in the quarter. "Croatia Produces Marlboro Cigs Under License" Reuters (07/12/94) In Zagreb, Croatia, tobacco manufacturer Tvornica Duhana Rovinj this week began production of Marlboro cigarettes under license, according to director Anton Cerin. Philip Morris Cos. is the first inter- national tobacco firm to give a production license to a Croatian cigarette maker, said company executive Marco Terribillini. Tvornica Duhana Rovinj's factory, located close to Italy in the northern Istrian peninsula, produces Walter Wolf and Ronhili, Croatia's best known brands. Dow said it is estimated that between 3 million and 5 million of Japan's 30 million smokers have smoking-related disorders.
