David Mahoney who is an old friend of mine, 3s Chairman of various
1Jana Foundations and projects at Harvard dealing in the neuro-
sciences, particularly In the area of the brain.
I receive their newslettere, and was particularly struck by this one
on Alzheimera. As you can aee on Page 2, the average age of onset
of Alzheimer's is six to eight years older in Japan - where I believe
smoking is twice per capita of the United States.
In view of some recent articles relating some beneficial effects of
cigarette smoking in cases of Alzheimer's, I would transmit, if you
wish, some of this material to David.
Tncidentally, he is a smoker.
