Gideon Koren, MD, is Director. Division of Clinical Pharmacology/Toxicology at The
Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario. Other current titles he holds include: Staff
Pediatrician and Acting Ward Chief, Department of Pediatrics; Associate Director for Clinical
Research. the Research Institute: StatT Member of the Division of Clinical Pharmacology -
Toxicologv, and Division of Ilematology/Oncology; and Senior Scientist, the Research
Institute, at The Hospital for Sick Children. He is also a Career Scientist of the Ontario
%linistrv of Health.
Dr. Koren is a regular reviev,er for a number of journals including: Journal of Toxicology -
Clinicul Toxicology: Developmental Pharmacology & Therapeutics: Journal of Pediatrics;
Journal of Cardiovascular Phurmacology and Pediatric Research. He is on the Israeli Board
of Pediatrics, the American Board of Medical Toxicology, and Fellow of the Royal College of
Phvsicians and Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Koren has been honored with fellowships and awards such as the MRC Queen Elizabeth
II Visiting Professorship, Western L'niversitv, London, Ontario; the American Academy of
Clinical Toxicology Fellowship: and the Distinguished Service Award -- The Canadian
Society of Clinical Pharmacology.
His research interests are pediatric pharmacology, renal handling of drugs and perinatal
toxicology.
