American Medical Association Physicians dedicated to the health of America Biography Elizabeth Klonoff, PhD Professor of Psychology Executive Director, Behavioral Health Institute California State University San Bernadino, CA Elizabeth Klonoff, PhD, is Professor of Psychology at California State University in San Bemadino, California and also Executive Director, Behavioral Health Institute at the University. Prior to her current positions she was Director, Behavior Therapy/Behavioral Medicine Clinic and Co-Director. Chronic Pain Center, University Hospitals of Cleveland; and Assistant Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in several different departments including Psychiatry, Neurology, Psychology, and Pediatrics. Her research interests are in cultural and gender issues in health and illness; prevention of tobacco use in children and minorities; tobacco control policy; health promotion, disease prevention. and behavioral risks to health; African-American acculturation and health; psychophysiological disorders in children and adults; and reactions to chronic illness. Current grant awards include: "Predicting and Reducing Cigarette Sales to Minors", a Tobacco - Related Disease Research Foundation grant from 1993-1995; "Impact of Local Tobacco Policy on Corporate Decisions to Locate Businesses," by the San Bernadino County Tobacco Control Project, 1993-1994; and the "Project ACT: Action to Control Tobacco" by the California Department of Health Services, Community Tobacco Control Education Project, 1993-1994.
