ARTICLE 2 NEW PERSPECTIVES ON RISK FACTORS FOR LUNG CANCER IN HUMANS Kabat, Geoffrey C. Dr. Kabat promised a 30-page article by September, but it has not yet been received. Dr. Kabat has been written recently to remind him to send a draft of his keynote speech as soon as possible. The paper will be similar to his recent review that appeared in "Seminars in Surgical Oncology." Dr. Kabat takes the position that smoking and occupational exposure may not explain all of the variation of lung cancer incidence within countries and between countries. He believes that it is possible that other factors may play a role as independent risk factors or as modulators of the effect of smoking and occupational exposure. He further has found that etiological factors for adenocarcinoma remain to be identified and the effect of interaction between risk factors must be further investigated.
