APR 01 '92 1i5:45 IINFOTAB 686 P11!i21 We - chair cornpany and the META Co-ordinator - have includ'ed' this reference for the following reasons: i) We want to avoid any product flbw problems caused by a different interpretation by the Qatari Authorities (of Article 6) who rni h expect any shipments coming in to Qatar within the six-month period, to, comply with the new specifications. We think it essential to add a comment indicating what the industry understands by Article 6. (And the combination: of Article 11 with Article 6 leaves no room for doubt on this score.) Hence the additional reference to Article 6 as in my point 2a) above. If - after we have submitted the letter - we hear from the authorities that the six- month period is onl intended for the industry to dispense with existing stocks within Qatrar (excluding stocks in transit or in country of origin before August 20), then, we will deal with this problem at that time if and~ when it arises, - along the lines of what the industtydid in- the UAE in 1989. Please get back to me if' you are not happy' with the above. Kind regards. Robin Allen
