On September 28, Khaled Al-Khalaf; in his capacity as Seeretary-Generail'' of the
GSMO, proposed, to individual GCC ministers that the Gulf Standardi; below be
updated:
NJ0t138 relating to atmosphere for conditioning and testing.
103:88' relating to the routine analytical cigarette smoking machine.

Ttiese two above, which had previously beeni adopted by GSMO based on ISO
3402:78 and ISO 3308:86 respectively, are now to be adopted to ISO 8243/91 for
cigarette sarnpling' and ISO 4387/91 for the "Determination of total and nieotine -
free dry particulate matter using al routine analytical smoking machine, glass-fibre
filter trap".
3)l GSMO is proposing that SASO be entrusted to prepare the new draft Gulf
Standards for inclusion ini the GSMO's Fourth Plan i.e. they are doing what
META has proposed..
Although META also proposed GSMO adopt ISO 10315 and ISO .1.i0'362, these
two are not included in Khaled AJ-Khala4's proposal.
