Concern: Workplace Smoking/ETS Seminar to be given by
Dr. Gary L. Huber
Gentlemen:
We ! have the pleasure to announce that in the context'~ of our ETS activities,
S & T has invited Dr. Gary L. Huber, a prominent American specialist in
pulmonary medicine and an expert on ETS, to spend some time with us in
October. He is currently working on a publicationi on ETS in, the
Workplace, and~ has accepted to animate a one-day seminar on that same
subject. Ani exact date has not yet been set, though we:hope to have a firm
date for sometime during the first two weeks in October soon:
Given Dr. Huber's expertise and communication skills, we wouU like to
open this seminar up beyond the scientific community, and would
welicorne suggestions from you on those Corporate Affairs, Legat and
line management people in your inarkets you would like to iirvite:
The seminar is to include ai short: presentation of Dr: Huber's conclusions
regarding the : scientific studies investigating ETS~ in the Workplace,, to be
followed by a frank and openi exchange.
WE : feel this is an excellent opportunity to familiarize, in a cessible terms,
collleagues who would benefit fromi an exchange with someone of Dr.
Huber's caliberon this critical business issue.
01

We currently have enough lead time to modif}y the format, as well as
organize separate sessions, should that be appropriate. Dr. Huber would
also be available for one or two press interviews..
Please let me have your comments as soon as possible, as the more time I
have, the more flexibility we can build into the program.
Best regards,
~
