It is sufficient signing;to make sure that' the public knows where smoking is not allowed; and it is voluntary compliance by smokers who respect the rights of others in, locations where people are required to be in close confinement. Employees waiting on customers in service lines are also covered by this'provision. Hospitals and Health Care Facilities ~ Smoking is prohibited in,hallways arsd'public waiting rooms of a11 hospitals and health care ! - facilities (except that such facilities may provide a waiting room specifically for smokers if they also provide onawhere smoking is prohibited). Health eareiacilities also must provide non-smoking sleep+ ing rooms upon the request of a patient or his/her physician uponadinittance. Pbarmacies ~ Smoking is not allowed in the vicinity of pharmacy counters, where customers may be waiting for presuiptions andlmedications.
