Numerous studies have indicated that tobacco has deleterious
health effects on both users and persons associated with tobacco
users.
The Linden Health Department will participate in any programs
that will reduce the number of people exposedto tobacco use.
The Linden Health Department is currently contracted with
the Visiting Nurse & Health Services of Union County, which will
be the lead agency for Union County, New Jersey, in the "Assist"
Project pending approval of the grant application.
The New Jersey Department of Health and the American Cancer
Society have always worked on Projects to improve the quality
of life of the resident of New Jersey, and the "ASSIST" project
will once again give them this opportunity.
