There is obviously a strong need for such a long-term initiative in-tobacco control. "Just Say No" International strongly supports such a tobacco control initiative since tobacco is a "gateway" drug and is emphasized in our primary prevention program. There are over 8500 registered "Just Say No" Clubs (children 5-14 years of age) in the United Stated alone. These Clubs meet year-round and' conduct drug education, recreation, peer and family outreach, and community service projects. In addition to drug education, Clubs have takenstrong,advocacy stands to control tobacco,and alcohol advertising promotion.
