HAROLD GREENE, CO-XNCHOR: The California Department of Health
Services is taking the offensive against smoking. Today in
Hollywood the California State Health Director announced that her
office has revived an advertising campaign aimed at the tobacco
industry and its billion-dollar marketing plans.
DR. HOLLY JOEL C0YE, STATE HEALTH DIRECTOR: Today the tobacco
industry money is more deadly than a contaminated syringe with the
HIV virus in it. More deadly than a mosquito carrying malaria.

launching its own wave of Mti-tobacco___.j;ub2ia service
announcements. They were produced using monies gencrated from that
