Dear Bryan,
Please find enclosed the final (?) draft of'our second paper which~has
just been submitted to the Economic Journal, the leadingigeneral economics
journal in this country. The previously lengthy title "Principles of Public
Policy relevant to Goods withiPossible Adverse Health Effects" has been
abbreviated to "'The Political Economy of Restriction of Choiice"'. You willl
recall (as per my letter of 8th March) that this paper was to be orientedl
to academic economists, and tolfocus on the general principles of public
policy which arose from our first paper, rather than to deal specifically
and exclusively with smokingi.
Enclosed also an invoice for our services over the past nine months.
I look forward to seeing, you on your forthcoming trip to the UK. Perhaps
we can then discuss further possibilities for research. I hope it may be
possible for you to meet Jack too.
With best wishes,
S. C. hittlechild'
