Svoboda, "Seasonal occurrence of pulmonary ,`carcinoma in men," referred to in Current Digest, Vol. VII, No. 8, page August 1962, is of some potential interest, I am going.to attempt to : get a fut7, copy to examine it more carefully. It is obvious that if there were seasonal factors in the occurrence of pulmonary cancer, this could be of some importance. At the moment, I would doubt the true significance of this work. It could, however, be useful as an item on -:: I expect to obtain a copy of the article by Albert Dawn entitled, "Constitution and smoking in Italian-American factory workers," referred to in Current Digest, Vol. VII, No. 8, page 4, August 1962. Ziie state- ment that the leaner men smoke significa.ntly more than the stout or obese but not the muscu].ar ones is of potential significance. Since there are constitutional factors that effect the amount which a person ;smokes, these factors rather than smoking er se, could conceivably have something to do with whether or not a person got cancer of the lung. Because of the importance of the statements in the article by R. D. Passey, referred to in Current Digest, Vol. VII, No. 8, page 8, August 1962, I will examine the original article in more detail and prepare comments.
