STRET.T JOURNAL fiLq '/ (.'fpM7[r NEW YORK - U.S. cigaret shipmente !n 1966 totaled a record 522.5 billion, up 2.2~I'o from 1®65, according to the Internal Revenue Service. An additional 19.5 billion' cigarets were shipped to the armed forces overseas, pro- ducing a total of 542 billion, or the equivalent of 4,296 cigarets per capita for persons 18 years or over. This total exceeds the 4,262 for 1965 and 4,195 of 1984, but 1s less than the 4,345 of 1963. Taxable removals of cigars from store- houses totaled 8,174,000;000 in 1966, 4% less than in 1963. The volume for 1966 has been exceeded since 1920 only 1n 1984 and 1985. Shipments of llttle cigars last year amounted to 435.7 milllon, up 0.2'% from 1965. their money. /~- _ a-~4"7...
