Abstract
The editorial secretary principally reports and is responsible to the editor of The Tobacco Observer and The Tobacco Institute Newsletter. The secretary also performs occasional tasks for two Institute staff writers, and cooperates as necessary with these and other members of the publications unit in the Public Relations Department.

The editorial secretary principally reports and is responsible
to the editor of The Tobacco Observer and The Tobacco Institute
Newsletter. The secretary also performs occasional tasks for
two Institute staff writers, and cooperates as necessary with
these and other members of the publications unit in the Public
Relations Department.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Minimum of two years of college or equivalent
education.
Experience :
Minimum of two years of professional secretarial
experience, with the ability to maintain careful
files and perform stenographic tasks, including
preparation of error-free material for typesetting
multilith reproduction.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Type camera-ready from rough copy for the four t.o eight
pages of the Newsletter, fortnightly.

Type clean copy of material to be typeset for The Tobacco
Observer newspaper, published bimonthly.
Type draft material for The Tobacco Observer for internal
scrutiny. .:.
Make copies and maintain files of all material used in
preparation of these publications.
5. Assist in proofreading.
6. Maintain indexes of publications contents.

Prepare correspondence and memoranda for the editor and
writers.
Handle telephone communications for the editor end writers.
Assist occasionally with travel arrangements for the
editor and writers.
Respond to outside requests for information pertaining
to publications.
Search source files and library resources occasionally as
requested.
Occasionally take or obtain material from outside prinZer,
Handle copyrightprocedure for each issue of The Tobacco
Observer.
Operate facsimil9 transmission or automatic typewriter
equipment as requested,
