LEGISLATIVE ACTIVITY
* Texas Senate Bill 932 (Indoor air quality standards) was
scheduled for hearing on May 25.
Oklahoma House Bill 1061 (Omnibus tax bill -- 5 cents per pack
cigarette tax increase) was approved by the House 53-45 and
31-13 by the Senate.
* The Missouri Senate passed Senate Bill 111 (Smoking
restrictions) by a 20-12 vote.
Five Texas municipalities acted on smoking restriction
proposals. See Terry Frakes' weekly activities report for
details about smoking ordinances in Kerrville, Tyler, Ingram,
McKinney and San Marcos.

Conferenced with Terry Frakes and Texas legislative counsel
Gaylord Armstrong about strategy against Texas Senate Bill
932.
Conferenced with Hurst Marshall and Oklahoma legislative

327 (Smoking restrictions) and a possible Joint Resolution
calling for a referendum on a 4 cents per pack cigarette tax
increase proposal.
