Dear Mayor Bleaman~
I hope you have received our le=ter of objections to the proposed ordinance,
they are presented in a spirit of negotiation and compromise.
We~ as representatives of our own business interests and those of our
customers, support your Intent ~o provide smoke-free conditions to those
wishin8 it and believe modlflca~lon to the proposed ordinance can
accomodate both s~des.
The board of dlrectors, as included in the attached list, would like to "
meet wi~h you and any other city representatives on May 18 or 19, at your
convenlence~ to dlscuss the current ordinance you have proposed. We would
llke nothing better than to reach an accomoda~ion on this issue that would
allow us to support your position at the May 21 hearlnE.
There is no question in ¢he mind of our board members that this issue
is beglnning to divide and polarize our co~.unlty. While we are beginning
to receive some substan=lal offers of support from various seEmen=s of
~he toe.unity, many-I suspec~ with "other axes to =rind", we are a one-issue
local business group working for what we believe are the best interests
of ~he co~mnlty.
I look forward ~o hearing from you on th~s matter.
Sincerely,
Domlnlck Zangarl,
President
