The Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society is comprised of 68 outstanding leaders in the medical and scientific or other fields of activity. These men and women, who have dedicated themselves to the unceasing fight to control and conquer cancer, bring together a broad and impressive variety of experience and knowledge. Theirs is the important task of managing the Society's business affairs- its policy, planning, and programs. The distinguished Honorary Life Directors, presented first in the following pages, served for- merly as regular Board members and at present continue to benefit the Society with their valuable counsel and experience. Under the practical and inspirational leadership of our Board of Directors, the devoted individuals serving co-actively in the various positions in the National office and in the Divisions and Units are enabled successfully to carry out the Society's constantly expanding activities in the fight to control and conquer cancer.
