ACTION ON THE H|LL December 17, 1987 In our continued efforts to respond to subscriber suggestions, we have added the following infor- marion to your Congressional Yellow Book: • ZIP Codes by CongressionaIDistrict (pages 1 through 18, following the State Delegations and District Maps pages). In this connection, a favor, please: As is the case in working with thousands of numbers, these pages may not be error-free. If you should spot an inaccurate or omitted ZIP code, we would very much appreciate your letting us know. • Facsimile (FAX) numbers for Members' offices, where they have been provided by those offices. You will find them listed on pages I-1 through I-4 and II-1 through ll-9. • California, 42~IDislrictmRep. Daniel E. Lungren (R) has been nominated as California State Treasurer. If the State Legishture does not cast a negative vote by the end of February 1988, Representative Lungren w~1611 the remainder of the term of the hteJesse Unruh (to, 1990) and a special election will be called to elect a new 42nd District Representative. (Lungren s departure from the Congress would mean minority vacancies on the Judiciary and Select Intelligence Committees.) If the outcome is unfavorable, Representative Lnngren will retain his House Seat~ • Lou/s/ana, 4th D/sh/ctuRep. Buddy Roemex (D), who was elected Louisiana Governor on October 24th, will resign from the Congress the day of his March 14th sweating in. At press time, it was anticipated that an open primary will be held on Super Tuesday (March 8th). If no candidate wins ~0-plus-1 percent of the primmT vote, a runoff election will be held in early April. (Committee majority vacancies: Banking and Small Business.) • Tennessee, 5th District--A special election will be held on January 19th to fill the vacancy created by the October 5th resignation from the Congress of former Rep. Wdliam Hill Boner (D), following his election as Mayor of Nashville. REMEMBER: Member changes mean location changes. Call before visiting. Remember also that Member telephone numbers do not change: E.g., The Tennessee 5th District telephone number will always be 225-4311, no n~at~er'w,ho t~lds the~ ,. :',~,.;~,:.,~.~. _On Decembe..r 10th,.the House adopted__H..
