He is having an "uphill fight convincing some of his

cigarettes on several occasions but at the moment still
sm.~kes about two packs a day of his favorite brand.
TO CALIFANO'S RIGHT, an empty chair is left

cabiuet discussions. Frequently Califano has a smoker
puffing fumes at him from that direction too.
