Dear Senator Metzenbaum,
I am writing to you in regards to the proposed ban on smoking on domestic airline
flights. My belief is, that at this time, smoking is already sharply restricted.
Passengers are guaranteed a no-smoking seat, if requested. In addition,'I have
read that there is evidence that measurements of nicotine in aircraft cabins.is ~0
small that i% would take close to 230 hours for non-smokers to be exposed to an
equivalent level of one cigarette. .~.
Also, there has nob been one single airline fire due to cigarette smoking based on
records since 1970. ~:. ~
I personally feel that the government has much more important matters to worry
about than this particular proposal.
