Dear Senator Armstrong:
I would like to voice my opposition to the proposed smoking
ban on airlines -- the Durbin Amendment.
I know that there have been reports on surveys which show
that the majority of airline passengers would be in favor of
a ban. One must consider the source of these surveys -- the
anti-smokinq faction.

Honorable William Armstrong

Dear Senator Armstrong:
I am writing to express my opposition to the Durbin
Amendment which would prohibit smoking on all airline
flights of two hours or less.
I am not only opposed to the Durbin Amendment but I am
strongly against any further smoking restrictions.
I feel the legislature should be putting their energies
towards more important issues that confront us today rather
than spending time on restrictive smoking measures which are
only favored by a minority. The majority of the people are
not bothered by cigarette smoke however, the minority seem
to be able to intimidate the smokers.
The smoking and nonsmoking issue is and can be solved by
common courtesy. I urge you to vote against the Durbin
Amendment and to strongly weigh all aspects for all the
people on any further smoking legislation or taxation.
You are elected to represent all the people.
Sincerely,
Barry/Anderson

Honorable William Armstrong
U.S. Senate

Dear Senator Armstrong:
I am writing to express my opposition to the Durbin
Amendment, which would prohibit smoking on all airline
flights of two hours or less, as well as any further smoking
restrictions.
The legislature should be spending their energies and time
towards more important issues rather than restrictive .4
smoking measures which are only favored by a minority. I am
a smoker and I find that the majority of the people are not
bothered by cigarette smoke however, the minority seem to be
able to intimidate the smokers. I, for one, do not feel
intimidated as I feel as I have just as much right as the
nonsmoker.
I urge you to not only vote against the Durbin Amendment
but any further smoking legislation or taxation.
You are elected to represent all the people.
Sincerely,
Bonnie Gerlits
