Honorable W. Curt Weldon, M.C.
U.S. House of Representatives
Washington~ DC 20515
Dear Mr. Weldon:
Thank you for your support against airline smoking bans. I urge
you to continue to oppose such moves.
Legislation to ban smoking on board commercial aircraft is so
unwarranted and inappropriate for many reasons.
Smoking aboard aircraft is already sharply restricted; every
passenger is guaranteed a "no-smoking" seat - - even if a smoking
section must be reduced or eliminated to satisfy that guarantee.
A smoking ban would pose serious compliance problems, and significant
administrative and practical problems for airlines and passengers
alike.
I strongly object to smoking bans on domestic airline flights and
again urge you to continue your opposition.

Senator John Heinz, llI, U.S.S.
U.S. Senate
Washington, DE 20515
Dear Senator Heinz:
I strongly object to smoking bans on domestic airline flights~
and urge you to oppose any further restrictions.
Legislation to ba~ smoking on board commercial aircraft is so
unwarranted and inappropriate.
The National Academy of Sciences said late last year.that.there
is nothing in the scientific literature showinB easual'eX~Os~re
to tobacco smoke in public places to be a health rlsk~- that
includes airplanes.
Smoking is already sharply curtailed on flights now, Everyone
requesting a "no smoking" seat is granted such even when it means
redncing or eliminating parts of the smoking section.
Again, I urge you to stand up for the rights of the smoking pnblic.
Sincerely,
Ja~es A, Morris

Dear Honorable Graham:
I would again like to voice my concern over the amount of restrictions
on smoking, especially on airlines.
People that smoke are citizens and should not be treated as second
class. They are already restricted in airline travel with the worst
positions in the aircraft. A total ban on smoking on any flights,
I feel~ would be an infringement of imdividual rights.
I would like to ask for your support on voting down any restrictions
on the Department of Transportation Appropriations Bill.
Sincerely,
