Senator Daniel P. Moynihan, U.S.S.
U. S. Senate
Washington. D. C. 20510
Dear Senator Moynihan~
The propaganda-driven antl-smoki~g
machine is in action again. ~ow they propose banning
cigarettes altogether from short airline flights. Never-
the-less, it seems obvlou@: that everyone except the anti-
smoking forces agree that the current policy of separating
smokers from nonsmokers is a fair and well-accepted
arrangement.
The National Academy of Sciences
said late last year that there's nothin~:~n the scientific
literature showing casual exposur9 to tobacco smoke in
public places to be a health risk. That includes a~rplanes.
Already, nonsmokingpassengers have
priority rights to seats on all airlines. But that doesnlt
de~er the anti-smokers. They would divest smokers of
al__l their rights.
Despite the self-serving clamor of
the antl-smokers, the status quo has served us well.
Please preserve it.
