As reported in the last issue of Executive Briefs the U.S. House of
Representatives approved an al,mendmeqt to the Federal transportation
budget bill that would ban smoking on all domestic airline flights of two
hours or less. The proposal w|l] 1~og~n hearings in the Senate Appropriations
Committee sometime in September.
Tl,ose of you who are members of the "Ibbacco Action Network ('fAN)
recently received a mailing asking you to write letters of opposition to
Senators Glenn and ~tzenbaum, and your U.S. Representative. If you have
not already written please do so today. "Grassroots" opposition is
essential if this proposal is to be defeated.
