Dear Mr. James:
We have your letter of April 30, 1956, respecting
certain of the present claims being made for Kent cigarettes.
Zieedless to say, in view of the correspondence and the
conference we have had with reference to the propriety of
the claims questioned and the time whi.t:ch has elapsed since
they were first presented for your consideration, that we
were most disappointed that your letter was limited to a
reiteration of contentions previously made inn support of
the claims, as well as the failure in your letter to offer
to discontinue or amend them.
We have again reviewed this matter in its entirety and
are still of the opinion that these claims constitute direct
infractions of Guide 2 for the reasons stated in our previous
correspondence.
We again request that you advise this office of your
corapany~s intentions relative to the continued use of these
claims as soon as possible.
